Since the beginning of the 20th century, the average human lifespan has more than doubled, and thanks to advances in modern medicine, life expectancy continues to extend. However, living a healthy life has become more important than simply living a long life.
With human health in mind, we at BIOINDIST developed an “egg yolk antibody (Rota IgY)” to treat pseudocholera, a childhood diarrhea for which no specific treatment existed. We were the first in the world to add this product to baby food, and for over 10 years, it has contributed to improving children’s health without any side effects.
We are also working to protect humanity from infectious diseases by developing egg yolk antibodies against Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a major cause of gastrointestinal diseases, and “influenza virus (Flu IgY)”, applying them to foods such as ice cream and yogurt, and exporting them overseas.
As the bond between humans and animals continues to deepen in modern society, we were the first in the world to develop a dedicated rapid diagnostic kit for canine distemper virus (CDV). Through the development of rapid diagnostic kits for over 30 animal infectious diseases, we contribute to the health and well-being of both companion animals and livestock.
Going forward, BIOINDIST will continue to research and develop technologies and products essential to both humans and animals, realizing the value of biotechnology for a better society.
